T1: Gavin Take: 6 June 1944: Chef-du-Pont, France

History: One of the responsibilities of the Airborne troops was the seizure of several key bridges following the D-Day drop.
One of these bridges was at Chef-du-Pont. Gavin organized a pickup force to take care of this bridge himself. With
elements of the 507th split into two groups he marched on Chef-du-Pont by closely parallel but different routes.

Units: Human Players
German: Squads, LMG, MMG
American: Squads

Maps: One map: 3. HEX: [1,20] is rubbled.

Terrain: Rural/Village.

Scenario Length: 6 Game Turns

Victory objective: U.S. wins by exiting 2 or more half-squads and any leader off HEX: [9,15]. For every German half-squad
that exits off HEX: [9,16], the U.S. must exit an additional half-squad. Note, in the original scenario, both U.S. and
German shared the same exit hex. However, TOTH requires distinct exit hexes. Also, the TOTH scoring box does not
allow victory point deductions from the U.S. player when the German exits units. Hence, the players should track their
own exiting units.

Set Up: Germans set up in town. Americans enter on Turn 1 at two locations on the mapboard edge.

Aftermath: After sizing up the situation Gavin attacked. The combined forces flushed the Germans from the hamlet
at the approaches to the bridge. But instead of giving up, the Germans fell back onto the causeway with their machine
guns. With the open ground denied by this heavy firepower the paratroops were denied the bridge.
